Frequently asked questions
The questions White Hills parents ask most — answered. Can't find yours? Get in touch and we'll help.
What age can my child start?
Our entry point is Under 9, which is mixed for boys and girls. [CONFIRM: the youngest birth-year eligible for U9 in 2026]. We don't run an Auskick program.
My child has never played footy — is that OK?
Completely. Loads of our kids start with zero experience. Come to a Come & Try session, and the coaches will bring them up to speed. Footy is for everyone.
How much does it cost?
See our fees page for the current registration fee, family discounts, and how to use Get Active Kids vouchers to reduce the cost.
When and where is training?
Each age group trains on a set night at our ground. Check the training times table for your child's group.
Do girls have their own teams?
Yes. Girls start in mixed U9, then we have U12 Girls and U15 Girls teams. See the girls' football page, including our answer on the U13–U14 age range.
Where do U10 and U11 kids play?
[CONFIRM: how children aged 10–11 are placed, given the brackets jump U9 → U12] — please contact us and we'll sort it out for your child.
What does my child need to wear and bring?
Footy boots, mouthguard, club guernsey, shorts, socks and a drink bottle. Full list on the game day page.
How do I know if a game is cancelled?
Check our Facebook page and your team manager. Full detail on the wet weather page.
How do I register?
Online through PlayHQ — about 10 minutes. We walk you through it on the register page.
Is the club child safe?
Yes. Child safety is our first priority — screened volunteers, codes of conduct and a Child Safety Officer. See child safety.
How can I help out?
In whatever way suits you — canteen, team manager, water, coaching and more. It's how clubs like ours survive. See volunteering.
